Here is a rare three piece Bohemian mantle luster set with two white-cased cobalt glass mantle lusters and a matching urn (or Pokal) centerpiece. Each luster has eight ball drop jewel-topped prisms (somewhat rare, and more valuable than the typical spear prisms) (NOTE: ONE PRISM IS 5.5 AND TOPPED WITH A SMALLER JEWEL).

All three pieces are decorated in a colorful hand-painted enamel floral motif, with extensive gold enamel designs. The serrated rims are also finished with enamel gilding.

The lusters have open bases, making them easily converted to lamps. The urn, in contrast, has a solid, flat smooth base. There is a small, square sticker inside the base of one luster with the number "7". There are no other identifying features. The lusters are 11.75" tall, with a base diameter of 5.5" and a rim diameter just short of 6.

The urn is two pieces and is 10.5" tall, and 3.75" base diameter. I noted no chips, cracks, scratches, or worn enamel on either the lusters or the urn. I did not see any chips on the prisms either. The "7" on the bit of paper inside the luster has a horizontal crossbar in the middle; this points to central European manufacture. This label was used by GlassExport in Prague during the 1950s through 1970s.

GlassExport was known to have sourced from the town of Zelezny Brod. The glass factories there were consolidated into a single firm after the Revolution, so the actual maker is not known.

Given the evidence, I believe this set was made between 1950 and 1980 in Zelezny Brod, Czechoslovakia. I think the ball-drop prisms were added at some later date, as they are usually found on antique lusters, and aren't even being made today (to my knowledge). NOTE: I HAVE NOT FOUND ANY EVIDENCE THAT THE MOSER FIRM EVER MADE OR DECORATED MANTLE LUSTERS.

I have seen about 30 pairs, and none had ever been signed. A generic label is NOT a signature. The item "PAIR BOHEMIAN WHITE CASED COBALT MANTLE LUSTERS With MATCHING URN READ FULL AD" is in sale since Thursday, March 5, 2020.
